[stag] bushes
May 18, 2012 04:10PM
Anyone know the difference between bushes offered by Superflex and ones
offered by superpro?
Since poly bushes appears the way to go for longevity,
what are things to look for?

1) They don't necessarily last longer than rubber. I've had poly bushes
fall apart in just a few thousand miles (although not for a Stag and not
from either of the referenced vendors, it was a well-regarded vendor). And
the factory rubber bushes lasted a long, long time. The main problem seems
to be poor quality replacements.

2) One good question to ask is how much firmer the poly is. Polyurethane is
available in many different formulas, from as soft as rubber to as hard as
wood.

The ones that Chris Witor sells (Super-Pro) come with stainless steel sleeves to prevent the bolts rusting in the bushes.

According to the internet site, Mr Witor sells the Superflex marque. I am fairly certain that all mine are from this make, at least most of the suspension bushes are. They have been on the since 2003, over 60k miles of troublefree use since then. Mine are the standard blue coloured ones.
