From another list. I know nothing beyond what's printed below, and since the
car is some 3000 miles away from me, I don't plan to go look at it.

Subject: [TR] '71 Stag for sale

Hello Listers,

I have become friends with a gentleman that works at a local auto parts house.
He told me recently that he is putting his '71 Stag up for sale. He would like
to sell it for parts, but will take offers on the car "as is". This is what I
know:

1971 Stag, original V8, 4 speed w/elec OD, 71,000 miles.

He described a problem with the head, and doesn't think he will ever have the
time to "get it going again".

If you are interested or have questions, contact him in South Carolina.

1972 stag for sale

1972 Triumph Stag for sale 3k$
Features stock Triumph Stag 3.0L OHC V8, desirable 4 speed manual gearbox with overdrive. 140K miles, thought to be accurate. Power Steering, Power Brakes, Air conditioning, power windows, AM-FM Radio and CD Player. Black Mohair convertible 3 window top, and original Stag steel hard top. Black vinyl interior. Shiny red paint. Modern Stag pattern alloy wheels. Dual exhaust. Recently rebushed front suspension. No known rust. Extra spare parts, workshop manuals and club magazines included. Good looks and entertaining performance make this an enjoyable car to drive and own. This car has all the desirable features of other Triumphs and is unique. However, it now needs engine work. It has I believe a blown head gasket, and there is water in the oil. While it had always leaked a little now it can be driven for no more than 1/2 hour before too much loss of water, and there is oil smoke from the exhaust. Make offer. Though the car could be driven around the block to see that it
works, it should be trailered away.
Make offer
